The Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children believes that all children deserve to live in a safe and loving home, receive a quality education, experience optimal health, and that their hard-working parents can make ends meet. The Blueprint is a coalition of non-profit, public, and private organizations that speaks with a common voice in order to have a better shot at making positive changes for Kentucky’s children.
Each year, Blueprint partners evaluate what policies are missing for kids in our state, what policies need to be improved, and what policies need to be changed to benefit kids. Through this process, we create a common policy agenda supported by all Blueprint partners. We advocate for this agenda to the Governor, our state legislators, and Cabinet officials.
The Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children is led by Kentucky Youth Advocates and supported by Kosair Charities, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Metro United Way, PNC Foundation, and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky.
The Blueprint for Kentucky’s Children was formed as a response to a challenge from legislators in 2007 for child advocates to speak with a common voice. Since 2007, the Blueprint has had great success both in policy wins for kids and in growing the number of partners engaged in the Blueprint work.
